THE PLANT QUARANTINE AND PHYTOSANITARY SERVICE (PQPS) SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED ITS TWO (2) DAYS PHYTOSANITARY INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (PIMS) TRAINER OF TRAINERS (TOT) TRAINING IN KABWE AT PIZO LODGE HELD ON THE 15th AND 16th OF AUGUST, 2022.

The Plant Quarantine and Phytosanitary Service (PQPS) through support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has developed a web based database called Phytosanitary Information Management System (PIMS). PIMS will serve as a repository for pest information meant to benefit a wide range of users including Plant Health Inspectors, Extension staff, and farmers among others.

This workshop was held in Kabwe with support from the Enhanced Integrated Framework/ Standards Trade Development Facility (EIF/STDF) project to train representative Plant Health Inspectors of each station from allover Zambia on PIMS. The workshop took place on 15th   and 16th  August, 2022 at PIZO Lodge.

Present was the Central Province Permanent Secretary (PS), Head Quarters Ministry of Agriculture Human Resource, Director Plant Quarantine and Phytosanitary Service(PQPS), all Senior Plant Health Inspectors and  representative Plant Health Inspectors of each station from allover Zambia.
